Meet Alyssa (she/her)

Alyssa Bufano is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Frick Counseling who provides counseling and EMDR therapy for children, teens, and adults. She offers in-person sessions in Dunmore, PA, and online therapy throughout Pennsylvania. With more than 11 years of experience in counseling and mental health services, Alyssa brings a warm, trauma-informed approach to supporting clients through difficult experiences.

Alyssa has counseled people of all ages, backgrounds and circumstances with a core focus on behavioral health and clinical care. She is passionate about supporting people who have experienced trauma. She is also an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) consultant.

Having entered the mental health field as a way to help people, Alyssa finds a particular purpose is supporting clients as they heal from difficult experiences. Her style of therapy is warm and inviting, offering a place to explore and overcome negative thinking patterns.

A graduate of King’s College (B.S., psychology) and West Virginia University (M.A., counseling), Alyssa was born in Scranton, raised in Dunmore and has practiced throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Outside the office, Alyssa enjoys being a mom, spending time with her family, working out and reading.

Alyssa offers in-person counseling in Dunmore and online therapy throughout Pennsylvania.
